Description

SQL Server Database administrator required who is able to take full responsibility for the database development and production environment, from infrastructure capacity planning through to backup processes. The successful candidate should possess the ability to work with little supervision and have excellent teamwork and communication skills. The individual should also be able to understand the business needs and how to apply current and new database technology that maintains and ultimately achieves new shareholder value.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for enforcing Database security.
  • Document Database failover and recovery processes.
  • Monitor and conduct capacity planning of hardware to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure continuous Database support, maintenance and monitoring.
  • Database performance analysis, tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Investigate and analyze new technology to support specific projects.
  • Assist with the analysis and design of database structures.
  • Ensure compliance with SQL Design Standards.
  • Execution of ad hoc DBA tasks.

Requirements

  • Four year university degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with MS SQL 2005.
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server administration and performance, writing stored procedures and query optimization.
  • Knowledge of Integration Services and Reporting Services.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Team player with strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
